Is the best movie of all time. Not only for IMDb users, but also for other rewires. This movie has it all. Suspense, drama, comedy, tenderness, friendship, etc. The photography is also magnificent. The characters are the best actor in Hollywood at that time. An incredible Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. The story is complete and has an spectacular ending. THe best ending the Hollywood made. This movie must win an Oscar, but unfortunately, Tom Hank's Forrest Gump, was more patriotic at that time and won the best picture Oscar. It is important to you don't miss this movie although you don't like prisons movie. So if you didn't see it, please rent it now. You wont regret.

 

I was a teenager when I rented that movie after a friend insisted in me watching that "you're gonna love it, I guarantee that" he said to me.
I have always seen Stephen King's job contemptuosly, I think his books are cheap, so I took it home just because he insisted.
Oh my God. it is a masterpiece. I won't say anything new, everybody has already said everything about how amazing this movie is. I own it on VHS in Spanish and English and I have it on DVD now. I think I bought pretty much a dozen of copies to give to my friends.
This movie absolutely changed a part of me in a very good way.
BTW, it just so happens that Stephen King's books result in very good movies. go figure.

It is always a movie i will watch when i have nothing to watch or just want to watch a good prison film. The Shawshank Redemption my best film ever.
